Below are answers to some of the most commonly asked questions  regarding our services, prices, and process. There are lots of resume services out there. Why should I choose VentureReady LLC?

We offer 1) highly personalized service, 2) some of the best resume writers in the U.S., 3) an extremely efficient process that minimizes your time and headaches, 4) a forward-looking grasp of technology and social media, and 5) lower prices than other high-quality services.To be done well, resume writing requires 1) highly specialized skills and experience, and 2) a lot of hours.  If you want to stand out, you need a writer with the ability and time to identify, grasp, and present those things that make you unique and “sell-able.”

What makes your writers better than other writers and coaches?

Our writers are Certified Professional Resume Writers and Career Coaches credentialed through the Professional Association of Resume Writers and Career Coaches and  the Career Planning and Adult Development Network. We offer an coaching and resume packages tailored to each client.  We walk clients through each step of the process from the resume and cover letter to the thank you letter and  interview follow-up.  We assist our clients by pinpointing what area they need to work on during to strengthen their professional brands. This increases the likelihood that they will get the position they want.

We conduct mock interviews and provide clients with the dos and don’ts of interviewing.  We discuss the benefit of having a career portfolio to set them apart from other candidates by presenting samples of their work, awards and certifications.  It also has a 30-60-90 day plan that allows the interview to see the individual in that position.

Our career coaches and writers participate in continued professional development through the renowned career services organizations including the National Resume Writer’s Associations, the National Career Development Association, Career Director International, etc.

What if I can't afford your services? Do you offer discounts?

We understand that working with a professional resume writer is a significant investment for many people. We also appreciate that, especially in a tough economy, not everyone can afford to hire a quality resume service. That said, we encourage you to think of our services as a critical investment that can provide a very strong return, very quickly. Periodically we offer promotions on our services and packages.  We also offer payment plans and financing options designed to fit your budget.

Can I speak with my writer by phone?

Yes. All customers get phone interview with their resume writer, which typically takes 30-60 minutes.

Coaching services are charged at an hourly rate and can be broken into 30 minutes intervals. Our coaches will use this call to learn more about your skills, experience, and career goals.

How long will it take to get my resume?

We strive to finalize a client’s resume and cover letter within 7 business days from the time they return our resume information worksheet, assessment and (if available) descriptions for jobs of interest. If you are quick to respond to our questions and drafts, we can likely finalize documents in less than 4 business days for an additional $75 rush charge.

What if I need the resume right now, or really soon?

Rush services are available at a 30% surcharge.  Priority shipping charges are available at the expense of the client.

What if I go over my allotted hours?

This rarely happens, because we have a very well-structured process that keeps things on track. And because we only work with the best resume writers, you avoid the endless back-and-forth spirals that accompany many resume factory rewrites. As long as you give us the information we request up front, you won’t go over. If for some reason you need more hours, we will charge you $50 per hour.

How many rounds of revisions can I make to my resume after it is rewritten?

Typically we need 2 rounds to make the resume and cover letter the best they can be. We do have a limit to the number of hours customers receive, but as noted above, it’s very unlikely that you’ll exceed your hours.

What if I don't like the resume you write for me?

Given that we have only the best resume writers, it is highly unlikely that you will dislike your whole resume after we write it. However, it’s quite possible that you will see ways to improve specific sections (you’re the expert on you, after all), and we build in plenty of time to work with you on revisions.

Can you give me a step-by-step guide to the interview or resume writing process?

VentureReady LLC has two eBooks available, Interview Winning Resumes and The Complete Interview Guide that are included during the 1 on 1 sessions and workshops. If you wish to obtain a copy of the manuals they can be purchased for $19.99 each.

How and when do I pay?

After you click on the  button under one of our resume or coaching packages, you’ll be taken to our payment processing page, which is hosted by PayPal. You do not, however, need a PayPal account to purchase any of our services. You can pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or any other major credit card. You can also choose the finance through Bill Me Later -PayPal. Because of the significant time investment on our end, we require payment in full prior to beginning an assignment unless you choose to finance through PayPal.

What are the differences among your resume package tiers?

The primary difference is that different professional levels take more or less hours for your resume writer to identify your unique selling points and writing and designing your documents.  Some packages come with extra services including, LinkedIn profile creation/revamps, and resume posting services.

Each resume package come with one (1) resume and one (1) cover letter. We encourage you to treat these as flexible, “living” documents that you adapt for each job application. If your target jobs are in the same general field and/or industry, this approach often works better than creating and juggling multiple resumes and cover letters. It will also be much more cost-effective, as it takes a lot of additional time to professionally write alternate resumes and cover letters.

If your target jobs are truly different and you have experience and skills in each of those areas, we do recommend creating multiple versions of your resume and cover letter. We charge $50 per hour for work on additional document versions. On average it takes 3 hours for each additional resume plus cover letter set; but this varies by client and it is impossible for us to give accurate estimates until we start your project.

What kind of cover letter will I get?

The cover letter’s main purpose is to grab the attention of the reader and entice that reader to continue to the resume. The cover letter is the employer’s first impression of you. As a result, your cover letter prioritize your relevant qualifications for the job you are seeking, and get your sales pitch across in the first 10 seconds. Each letter is tailored for the position you are seeking, or for a specific industry.

If you want employers to read your cover letter, it needs to be concise and tailored to that specific company and job description. Generic cover letters get ignored, no matter how well they’re written. We encourage our clients to give us a job description for a position they’re interested in, so that we can write a real-world, fluff-free cover letter for them. While specific to one job, the structure of this cover letter can be reused for other jobs and we’ll show you which parts can be adapted or replaced.

I want to apply to different types of jobs? Can I get multiple resume versions with your packages?

If you’re interested in multiple versions, sign up for a resume or coaching package and we will provide you an estimate for additional work after we learn in detail about your background and job targets.

Do I get anything other than a resume and cover letter?

Clients receive a job search or LinkedIn eBook download with the purchase of a resume or coaching package. However, our clients continually remark how much additional benefit they get out of the resume writing  or coaching process. In particular, you will walk away with a much stronger grasp of the skills, experience, and achievements that make you unique and appealing to employers. This will help you identify the right job and career opportunities, and will give you the confidence to go after them. It will also help tremendously with responding clearly, concisely, and assertively in job interviews.

Do you offer a guarantee that I'll get a job?

We’ll provide you with the best resume or career coaching services possible for you, but we can’t guarantee you a job. Although about 98% of our client land the job they want. No company can honestly provide you  that assurance. Any resume or coaching service that does is just using a marketing gimmick.

The services we provide are a critical piece of the job search puzzle, but there are too many other factors involved for us to be able to make job offer guarantees.
